These parameters must be set prior to applying the structure function techniques to your ADCP measurements:
- Set evaluation spatial scale. It is dependent on:
- bin size and beam range (to ensure a sufficient number of data points)
- length scales for isotropic turbulence
- delta b calculation
- determine the percentage of instances in a burst when delta b can be calculated for separation distance delta r at a location r
- distribution of delta b / delta b squared values – the impact of outliers and resilience of mean
