The second processing level is separated into two NetCDF groups:
- Level 2 qaqc velocities: velocities from level 1 have now been quality-controlled and despiked. This level would contain the complete time series. For burst sampling, all observations in each individual burst would be appended together. An additional variable would be included to identify the original burst each velocity sample belonged to.
- Level 2 segmented: velocities have now been segmented and detrended. Each segment is stored separately from each other, which accommodates segmenting datasets using an overlapping window i.e., some velocity samples can belong to more than one segment.
