Quality Control of Dissipation Estimates

  1. Reject ensembles where the slope is negative (i.e. εi<0)
  2. Reject ensemble where Ni values are unreasonable (I.e. NSubscript texti<0).
  3. Estimate the uncertainty in εi as the 95% confidence interval on the slope. Reject values that are too large (e.g. delta εi / εi >0.6).
  4. Average the εi estimates from the diverging beams (if applicable) to determine ε.
  5. Check if distribution of ε is lognormal
