Some elements of quality control can only be done after spectra have been computed and should be done before final estimates of ε are reported:

  • Reject time series segments as inadequate for turbulence analysis
    • List them here or link to new pages?
  • Reject spectra (or parts of spectra)
    • Spectral slope of fitted spectral observations (?)
    • Misfit criteria
  • Identify frame interferences from the epsilon vales
  • Plot spectra from all three velocity components to check for Large-scale turbulence anisotropy
  • Determine the measurement noise levels in the time-domain This is currently not implemented, would be best done on each segments at level 2


Here are other quality indicators based on the estimated ε:

  • Propagated error from the confidence level of the spectra
